This was kinda cool but was just a lamer version of Texas Chainsaw. The original Hills sucked ass and the remake was better because of the gore but really this was nothing special. It's like evrey horror movie is the same these days. Wes Craven will prolly remake Nightmare on Elm Street next cuz he needs more millions. U R LAME WES!!! Hey I got a question for you guys I can't figure out how to make a link without it looking all shitty. I just want certain words to be the link, not the whole url you know? other forums have better software so I just click a button to make a link and it does it for me, but this forum you can't do that! What is it like a secret? PLEASE HELP! I don't wanna look stupid. thanx

I thought the remake was pretty good; director Alexandre Aja is definitely carving out a Hollywood career for himself--I think he's going to keep improving with each picture and his best projects are yet to come. As for the Hills Have Eyes, I would have liked to see more of the mutant family's clan structure. It was unclear who was in charge, how many there were, and their relationships with each other. Knowing this, IMO, would have made them more interesting as antagonists.
Infected: It's a little difficult to show without the text editor thinking I'm actually trying to put in links, so I'll use "{" instead of a bracket.
When you get the {url}{/url} from clicking on "add hyperlink", put your address in the first bracket, like so:
{url=http://blahblahblahblah}The Blah Blah Blah Home Page{/url}
Hope this helps!

I got the unrated version dvd today. I thought it was pretty cool when I saw it in the cinema, so I´m hoping the unrated version will be even better. What I´m not sure about though, is if this movie is pro american (the average american killing of all the threats to his beloved family) or criticises american politics( the deranged family was created by nuclear tests of the government and destroys the conservative patriotic father of the family) What do you think??

Good question... I think I remember reading something about how it was a statement about how anti-violence, anti-gun Democrats will become conservative, pro-violence gun-loving Republicans if pushed far enough where they have no choice but to kill to defend themselves and their loved ones. That's certainly in the remake, as is criticism of American politics and nuclear testing and all that. So maybe it's both.

Yeah that sounds reasonable. I really like the fact that there is some room for interpretation, but I can`t figure out what Aja wanted to say, when the"hero" killed one of the rednecks with an american flag to the head...??

I think Aja was trying to drive home his point (if you'll pardon my pun) about the wimpy peace-loving guy becoming a hardcore Republican "kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" kind of guy by being pushed beyond his limits. Maybe it goes beyond all that, though. Maybe what Aja is trying to say is that, when provoked, logic and reason fly out the window and man automatically returns to his most primitive, violent level to defend himself and his loved ones. We are all capable of such violence; those who refuse to give into it must perish. Only by meeting violence with violence can such problems be solved. Think about it. Since when have words ever swayed a maniac, a dictator, a drunk guy picking a fight, etc.? Very rarely, and usually not for long... In the end, violent people only respect violence. "Turning the other cheek" is a good way to get killed, enslaved or beaten up!

You might have a point there. The problem is that there will always be people, who won`t turn the other cheek, so unfortunatly this idea (even if it sounds great) isn`t really practical.
