My favorite TV shows right now are 24, Alias, and Lost, which I never bothered to watch until I saw them on DVD this year and got hooked! Now I see what all the fuss is about! Only took me years to get around to finding out... What are your favorite TV shows?

Right now, I'm addicted to reruns of CANNON on DVD. It stars William Conrad as Frank Cannon, a fat gourmet private eye who drives around in a Lincoln Continental karate-chopping bad guys! LOL. Sounds horrible, but trust me, it's a blast! Surprisingly well-written mysteries and William Conrad burns up the screen as the crustily charismatic Cannon. I remember wanting to watch this show so bad when I was a kid but my dad said it was "too violent"... Years later, I discovered William Conrad as one of the best villains ever in THE KILLERS and as the host of the old time radio show, ESCAPE! An amazing voice on that guy, as well as a terrific screen presence regardless of whether he was playing the hero or the heavy (no pun intended). Next on my rental list is season 1 of JAKE AND THE FAT MAN, Conrad's post-Cannon 80s detective show, which I never got to see when it was on. Trivia: A pre-Star Wars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) appears as (ta-da!) a farm boy in the second episode on CANNON: Season 1: Part 1: Disk 2. I spent several minutes saying to myself, "that farm boy looks awfully familiar..." before it hit me who he was!

After years of hearing good things about it, finally got to see MANNIX on DVD and dug it. Really like the bizarre split-screen title sequence. Unlike a lot of fans, I think I prefer season 1 (when he worked for the Intertect detective agency) to season 2 (when he worked on his own). The antagonistic friendship between Mannix and his boss/war buddy, Lew Wickersham, made for a lot of fun moments in season 1.
The cinematography is fresh and daring--some of the best I've seen in TV of the time.

I think "Lost" is probably the best thing going right now...my daughter is hooked on it and insisted that "dad" would too...I didn't believe it for a nano second. Result? She was right. (damn the little brat)
Outside of LOST, I'm not much into the current crop of popular shows...(I did like OZ for awhile)...I love old, long lost shows such as "The Fugitive", "Miami Vice" and even the "Honeymooners"...
